About

Why this site exists

Families of children with neurological conditions are approached constantly with regenerative treatments. They are rarely given the one thing that would let them decide well: a plain account of how strong the evidence is, written by someone with nothing to sell them.

Who writes it

Prof. Dr. Burak Tatlı, Paediatric Neurologist. The material is written and reviewed for families, in English, and is kept deliberately free of the language used in treatment marketing.

How the grading works

Every statement is placed on a four-level scale — approved, in clinical trials, early research only, not supported — and the level is given per condition, not per therapy. A treatment that is licensed for one problem and untested for another is shown as exactly that. The scale and what each level means is set out on Judging a therapy.

What is deliberately absent

  • No patient testimonials, before-and-after videos or success stories. They are the least reliable evidence in this field and the most persuasive.
  • No pricing, no referrals, no treatment bookings.
  • No claim that a treatment works when the honest answer is that nobody has shown it.

Limits

This is general information, not advice about your child. It cannot account for your child's diagnosis, severity, medication or history, and it does not replace the clinician who does. Evidence in this field moves; where a page is out of date, the fault is ours and we would rather know.

If you take one thing from this site

Before agreeing to anything, write down what would count as improvement, how it will be measured, and the date you will review it — and keep your child's existing therapy going regardless.
